After far, far too many years, I’ve returned to painting in oils. I’m loving it and can hardly believe I’ve waited as long as this to paint in oils again. Started with this interior of my studio and have been working on something of a landscape. With Christmas break here I hope to be spending some extra time in the studio painting. The mail-art has been on the back burner for quite some time, so maybe I can get some mail out too.
Contrasts: New Works by John Fennell, Trey Moore, and Michael Van Hout
Coming up on Friday, October 23rd, I'll be part of a three-man show with John Fennell (painting pictured bottom left) and Michael Van Hout at ACME Art Studios as part of the Fourth Friday Gallery Night.
I'm very excited about this show and all of you will be able to attend.
The opening and reception begins at 6PM and goes till 9PM.
ACME is located at 711 N 5th St, Wilmington, NC, 28401
With school in, I’ve been slower getting new work started. I have completed two new portraits, some new watercolors, and there’s new mail-art in the works. Later this month I’ll be part of three person show, more details soon.
All in all, just the usual school slow down has taken hold.
I've been trying to keep up with my art work now that school has started back. This can be a challenge at times, but with a show coming up in October, there's a deadline to meet!
This past week I was able to complete four pieces of mail-art. Then today I finished up the portrait of Alan. All-in-all not a bad week for being back to work!
You can find several of my watercolor sketches on display for sale at crafted@lcac, the gift shop at the Leland Cultural Arts Center.
I know October is more than a month away, but I’m very excited about a couple of things happening that month.
On Friday, October 23rd, I’ll be part of a three man show at ACME Art Studios with Michael Van Hout and John Fennell. Also, on Saturday the 31st I’ll be teaching a one-day workshop on design elements and principles at the Museum School at the Cameron Art Museum. You can register at the Museum School’s website as well as check out all the other wonderful classes and workshops they offer.
