Six Months Later

Six months later... a lot has been going on since January, making it difficult to take the time for new, regular posts. Despite the demands of teaching high school, I had work in two different shows,  was selected for an exhibition in Cary, NC for February 2018, taught an independent study class at the Leland Cultural Arts Center, and managed to keep on getting pieces completed for my upcoming exhibition this September in Chapel Hill, NC.

It was been a VERY busy beginning of the year!

So far this summer I have been distracted from painting as much I would like. My time has been consumed doing some much needed, and somewhat extensive, home repairs. Not much time left before the new school year starts so I need to get to it!

The piece below, "Sound Side," was on display at the Wilmington International Airport for their exhibition "LOCAL." The show ran from late February to mid May.

Running almost concurrently with the LOCAL exhibition, "Wilmington, Then and Now" was up at the Bellamy Mansion in Wilmington, NC from April to May. These two pieces, "Friday Night 1985" and "St. John's Lodge," were a part of that show.

Winter and spring were full of painting, even with the demands of teaching and two shows running throughout the better part of the spring. Below are just a few of the pieces I completed before the school year was out.

Much more work was accomplished than what you see in this post. Check out the other pages for more new paintings as well as a few sketches from my sketchbook.
